Since founding the company about five years ago, I've enjoyed working with partners and customers throughout Michigan and worldwide. For example, at a vegetable processor in Michigan, we demonstrated how we could clean up wastewater so it could be reused to wash incoming vegetables like carrots (which are covered in dirt) while concentrating the solids to make an animal feed product. We provide onsite filtration and treatment solutions to lower disposal costs and enable new synergies. Its headquarters is located at Ann Arbor. Often, these facilities produce large volumes of wastewater that is costly to dispose of. The company currently specializes in the Environmental Services area. Digested Organics deploys customized filtration solutions that holistically address its customers needs, reduce disposal costs, and reclaim clean water. We are also work with food and beverage facilities like breweries, distilleries, vegetable processors, and others. Our work was recently awarded a grant as part of the Vermont Phosphorus Innovation Challenge to demonstrate how our stainless steel ultrafiltration technology can remove 95+% of phosphorus from manure, thereby helping to reduce runoff that is threatening many watersheds throughout the country (including the Great Lakes so dear to many Michiganders!). I spend a lot of my time working with dairy farms who are interested in concentrating the nutrients in manure so they can more cost-effectively use it as a fertilizer while simultaneously extracting the water for reuse.
